I would like to see the writers bring back Jack's oldest son who is half Vietnamese. That would be nice to see some more diversity on soaps!

Yes! I 've been thinking the exact same thing about the lack of diversity! I think Days of Our Lives has been slightly better with this - in the last 3 years they've had Paul, Haley, Melinda, and Shin, but Y&R hasn't had any main Asian characters during that time. (Though currently, Melinda and Shin rarely ever appear on Days and both Paul and Haley are gone now.) I actually wrote a whole piece about soap diversity a few months ago but never posted it. It covered not just ethnic diversity but also other minority groups like disabilities and LGBT+. (Similar to Melinda and Shin, Tessa's appearances are very sporadic.)
I should also add, if Kyle does end up leaving the show soon, that would be the perfect time to bring Keemo back. They'd probably have to find a brand new actor, so maybe they can de-age him a little and put him in the same age group as Amanda, Elena, Sally, etc. I don't really know anything about his personality or interests but enough time has passed since his last appearance that they could probably revamp his character a bit if they wanted to. Actually, now that I think about it, Shin's actor from Days could be a really good choice! He hardly appears on Days anyways so I'm sure he'd consider jumping to Y&R if it meant a more prominent role!
My biggest complaint with Y&R is missing children. We are supposed to ignore these characters have kids. Nope.
So true! On Days, it makes Chloe look like a neglectful parent because she just left her son with her mother in New York. I guess it’s more difficult to find good child actors, and especially since they still have school and stuff, it’s probably harder to film around the kids’ schedules. But now that it’s summer vacation and more people are getting vaccinated, Katie and Johnny have been showing up a bit more often! And Connor was at boarding school so at least there was a reasonable explanation for that. The one that puzzles me the most is Christian! According to IMDB, he hasn't appeared since March 9th, 2020! As soon as it’s safe for him to return, I hope he does.
What do you think?
