Audrey North was a fictional character on The Young and the Restless, portrayed by Constance Towers.
Biography[]
Audrey North was John Abbott’s private secretary at Jabot Cosmetics for many years.
In 1996, after many years of working at Jabot, Audrey decided to retire. Audrey was highly regarded by all the staff at Jabot, including Jill Abbott, who even gave her a gift as token of appreciation for all her years of service. Leading up to her retirement, Audrey was left very troubled over a secret she had kept for many years. Audrey was further troubled after watching John Abbott reunite with his daughter Ashley Abbott, who recently came back to town, because of how this secret would impact the whole Abbott family. After her retirement party, John asked to speak with Audrey alone. While alone, John thanked Audrey for all that she had done for Jabot and hugged her. As they were hugging Audrey kissed John but immediately drew back. After this Audrey decided to confess her secret to John. Audrey told John that she had been in love with him for many years and that all those years ago she lied and told Dina Mergeron that John was going to ask for a divorce because he had fallen in love with her. Enraged by her confession, John ordered Audrey away and told her to never speak to him again.
Audrey is order away by a devastated John.
Soon after this Dina confronts Audrey about her confession and even accuses her of still being in love with John and using the confession as a final ploy to win him over. Audrey admits that although she loved John, what she had done was wrong. Afterwards, Audrey apologizes for all the heartache she caused Dina and her family. After this Audrey moved and left town.
