Biography[]
Cindy Lake was a prostitute.
In 1982, Tony DiSalvo raped Cindy. Paul Williams began working undercover trying to clear his father, Carl Williams who was being framed as a cop on the take. Paul met Cindy, a hooker "with a heart of gold," and befriended her hoping to expose another prostitute, Pam Warren, who had framed his dad. Paul fell for Cindy. Paul got the big boss to free Cindy from the ring and promised her they'd spend quality time together when this was all over. Paul intended to marry Cindy. Walker ordered Paul to kill Pam so Paul took her to the Williams' home to hide.
Pam saw how she'd destroyed his family's happiness and agreed to talk. Cindy was put back to work as a prostitute and Walker got someone classier for Paul to date. Pam was taken into protective custody but when Paul was unable to prove he'd killed Pam, Pete ordered his death, then and there. She urged him to leave town when Pete Walker took out a contract on him. Pam was killed. Paul was worried Cindy might meet the same fate as Pam but she refused to leave town. Paul had to go into hiding from the mob. Cindy didn't see Paul for a few days and sent out feelers but Walker wasn't interested in nosy broads checking up on his people.
In 1983 to lure Paul out, the syndicate kidnapped his mother, Mary Williams. Carl negotiated a deal (Mary for Paul). Fortunately, Paul and Carl Williams rescued Mary and almost all the members of the mob were put behind bars--with the exception of Tony. Alex Morgan (a crooked cop) and Pete killed each other as Mary was rescued and reunited with Paul and Carl. Tony shot Cindy. Paul proposed to her on her death bed and she died soon afterward in Paul's arms. Cindy's life was cut short when she took a bullet intended for Paul.
