Dark Horse is a company that Nicholas Newman started to compete with Newman Enterprises after getting sick of his father, Victor Newman's manipulations. Disguised as JT Hellstrom, Nick committed sabotage to give Dark Horse an edge in the competition. He then revealed his new business venture and tried to convince Sharon Collins, Summer Newman, Nikki Newman, Abby Newman, Victoria Newman and Phyllis Summers to come work for him. Abby was the only one who accepted the offer, but Nick later brought Jack Abbott on board with the company.
However, later, Adam, with Phyllis' help, hacked into the company's servers, stealing it from Nick; after which, Adam appoints Phyllis as the new CEO of Dark Horse, but Phyllis bankrupts Dark Horse by selling all of the properties to Nick.
The vacant building was then bought by Jill Foster Abbott and used as the head office for Chancellor Communications.
