Elena Dawson is a resident of Genoa City, portrayed by Brytini Sarpy from 2019 to 2024.

Storylines

Elena first appeared when she opened the door to Devon Hamilton when he followed his sister, Ana Hamilton, to a motel. After initially slamming the door in his face, the young woman was later revealed to be the nurse to Jett Slade, a former R&B musician who also happens to be Ana’s father. Devon invited her and Jett to move into the penthouse with him and Ana so she could be with her father. Elena was uncomfortable with the situation and insisted she wasn't looking for a handout, but agreed. Elena found herself drawn to Devon, but he overstepped again when he paid off her student loans.

Elena and Devon's relationship got off to a rocky start, in no small part because he was still haunted by the death of his wife, Hilary Curtis. But the couple grew closer and she was there for him when his father, Neil Winters, passed away. Elena also befriended Nate Hastings, and off his suggestion, interviewed and got a job as a new resident at the hospital.

Elena and Nate later started their own clinic together, but Amanda Sinclair arrived in town. Amanda looked exactly like Hilary, and Elena didn't like or trust her especially when she stayed town since she believed Amanda was bringing up painful memories for Devon. Nate also took a liking to Amanda and started dating her.

Things only got worse when Amanda found out that she was Hilary's twin sister and started hanging around Devon more asking for more information about Hilary. Elena didn't like Amanda being around Devon constantly. Her insecurities eventually got the best of her and she slept with Nate, only to find out that Nate had real feelings for her. When Devon found out, he broke up with Elena.

Elena and Nate then began a relationship, only for Elena to be drawn back to Devon. Elena had trouble choosing between the two cousins but eventually decided upon Nate. They began working on their relationship, focusing on improving their communication and honesty, only for Nate to leave Elena for Victoria when he became more involved in the business world.

After that, Elena isn’t seen very often. She returns whenever someone has a medical crisis. Elena treated and supported Sally through her miscarriage.

Elena returned back onscreen in November 2024 after several months of not being seen. As Phyllis’s doctor after she fell into a coma an result of car crash.
