The Young and the Restless Wiki

Chancellor Communications (abbreviated to Chance Com) is a news business that was founded by Jill Foster Abbott. She put her son Billy Abbott and Lily Winters in charge as Co-CEOs. The head office is based out of the old Dark Horse building.

Looking to streamline, Victoria sold Newman's media division to Chance Comm. Victor was infuriated by this, not wanting Billy to get a part of Newman.

Billy used Chance Comm as a weapon against Adam, publishing a scathing article about his wrongdoings. Billy threatened to do a similar thing with Ashland and expose his shady past.

Because of a trap set by Adam, Victor, and Ashland, Chance Comm lost its credibility and Billy was forced to resign. Jill decided to put Chance Comm up for sale and promote Lily to CEO of Chancellor Industries.

As of January 2022, Chancellor Communications was bought by Victoria to be integrated into Newman-Locke. Elena still worked for the company and Traci presumably did as well but this is uncertain. Thanks to Sally, Elena was later released from her contract so that she could jump ship and do a medical podcast for Chancellor-Winters instead.
