They are friends that are starting to grow feelings for each other. Claire began working as Harrison Abbott's nanny and grew close to Kyle in the process. Kyle asks Claire to dinner at Society to get things off his chest and talk to her about his troubles with his ex-wife, Summer Newman and his new job as CO-CEO of Glissade with former lover, Audra Charles.
Later, after the announcement of his new job, Kyle went to Society to talk to Claire about not telling her mother and grandmother Nikki Newman about his job, but Claire asked him is there something going on with him and her grandfather, Victor Newman and why Victor warned her about him.
Later, after Kyle and Summer had a big fight in the Abbott Mansion regarding Harrison's new living arrangements, Claire enter the room and tells them that she picked up Harrison from camp and he's outside in the garden with Mrs. Martinez. After, Summer left, Claire tells Kyle that she and Harrison plant some vegetables, such as radishes, peppers, and tomatoes in the garden, would he like to take a look at them to get some fresh air, but Kyle decide to take a walk in the park and wanted Claire to join him. During their time in the park, Claire and Kyle discuss the latest events in his life, including Harrison, Summer, and Audra.
After his argument with Summer at Society, Kyle went back to the manison and saw Claire coming down the stairs and he asked her if she has a updated passport, which she does and will her and Harrison come to Paris with him. She declined the trip, because of Summer, but Kyle tells her that Harrison will be upset if she didn't come. Later, Claire had a discussion with her mother at Crimson Lights about her issues with Kyle, Summer, Harrison and the trip to Paris. Later, she calls Kyle to tell him that she will join him and Harrison on the trip to Paris. After Summer got a court order to stop Kyle from taking Harrison to Paris, he asked Claire that while he was gone to Paris, he wanted her to spy on Summer to see if Summer tries to do anything to undermine him during the custody agreement, but Claire doesn't want to go against Summer, then Kyle told her that it's was a bad idea.
Later, after Kyle returns from his trip to New York after learning from his mother that Harrison was sick, he and Summer got into another heated argument, while Claire went upstairs to bring Harrison her homemade chicken soup. Kyle invites Claire out to dinner to get her opinion on houses for him and Harrison.
