Barbara Anderson[]
Barbara Anderson was a fictional character on The Young and the Restless, portrayed by Deidre Hall.
Prior to 1973, Barbara Anderson worked as a nurse in a Chicago Hospital where she met her fiance, Dr. Brad Eliot.
In 1973, Despite hospital policy, Brad attempted to a life-saving surgery on Barbara's young son after the boy was critically injured. Although Brad did everything he could, the child died on the operating table. Overcome with guilt and grief, Brad fled the hospital and disappeared.
When Chicago police later contacted Barbara to identify the belongings of a man killed in a fiery car crash, she recognized the watch and wallet as Brad’s. Based on her identification, both Barbara and the authorities believed Brad had died. Unknown to Barbara, Brad had been mugged before the crash. The thief stole his watch, wallet, and car, and later perished in the wreck, leaving the body burned beyond recognition. In reality, Brad had hitchhiked to Genoa City, determined to leave his tragedy behind and start a new life.
In 1974, a jealous girlfriend of Brad's, Lorie Brooks came to Chicago and visited Barbara in hopes of uncovering Brad's past so she could blackmail him into staying with her. After Brad rejected Lorie, she spitefully revealed the truth of his past. Brad's wife, Leslie Brooks, encouraged Brad to make amends with his past, which included a reunion and reconciliation with Barbara.
Barbara later became pregnant with Brad's baby but suffered a miscarriage. Barbara and Brad broke off their engagement.
In 1975, Barbara left town.
Bruce Henderson[]
Dr. Bruce Henderson was a fictional character on The Young and the Restless, portrayed by Paul Stevens and formerly Robert Clarke.
Bruce Henderson had one sister, Liz Foster. He had one son, Mark Henderson with ex-wife, Regina Henderson and a daughter Lorie Brooks, with Jennifer Brooks.
In 1973, Bruce and Ma Henderson return to Genoa City after learning that Liz Foster had developed uterine cancer. While in Genoa City, Bruce was able to repair his strained relationship with his sister reconnect with Jennifer Brooks, an old lover.
In 1975, Lorie learned she was the daughter of Bruce and not Stuart Brooks. Years earlier, Jennifer Brooks had an extra marital affair with Bruce producing daughter Lorie, while Jennifer was still married to Stuart. Jennifer was planning to divorce Stuart and marry her former lover Bruce. Bruce died of a heart attack in 1976.

Frank Martin was a fictional character on The Young and the Restless, portrayed by Jay Ingram.
Frank Martin was the father of Susan Martin. Sally McGuire had an affair with Frank which produced Susan who died.
George Curtis[]
George Curtis was a fictional character on The Young and the Restless, portrayed by Anthony Geary.
One night in 1973, Chris Brooks stopped by a singles bar, where she met a quiet man named George Curtis. George offered to walk Chris home, and she accepted. Once they arrived at Chris’s apartment, George’s demeanor changed. He forced his way into her home and raped her.
Chris pressed charges against her George, but on the stand the defense painted Chris as unresisting, and George was acquitted. However, several weeks later when George attempted to force himself on another victim, he was killed.
Jerry Frazier[]
Jerry Frazier was a fictional character on The Young and the Restless, portrayed by Michael Gregory.
Jerry Frazier was a nude photographer.
Jill Foster and Chris Brooks both responded to a modeling ad and ended up meeting each other in the outer office of the photography studio, so they decided to go into the interview together. Upon hearing that the photographer, Jerry Frazier, wanted to take nude pictures of them, Chris announced that neither she nor Jill would be interested, and walked out of the studio taking Jill with her. Jill went back alone later, however, and offered Jerry her services anyway. Unfortunately for Jill, he had just gotten off the phone with another model who had taken him up on his offer, so he rejected Jill's services.
Ma Henderson[]
Ma Henderson was a fictional character on The Young and the Restless, portrayed by Dorothy Adams from April 24, 1973 to May 3, 1973.
Ma Henderson was the mother of Bruce Henderson and Liz Foster. She has three grandsons, Greg Foster, Snapper Foster, and Mark Henderson, along with two granddaughters, Lorie Brooks and Jill Foster.
Marianne Roulland[]
Marianne Roulland (also called Marianne Meulot) was a fictional character on The Young and the Restless, portrayed by Lilyan Chauvin from September 1973 until April 1, 1974.
Marianne Roulland was the sister of Pierre Roulland, the owner of Pierre’s Restaurant in Genoa City.
In 1974, after Pierre was killed during a robbery, Marianne held Sally McGuire, Pierre's wife, responsible for his death and tried to force her out of the restaurant. Her efforts failed when Pierre’s will confirmed Sally as the legal owner. Grief-stricken, Marianne left Genoa City and took her brother’s body back to France.

Pierre Roulland[]
Pierre Roulland was a fictional character on The Young and the Restless, portrayed by Robert Clary from the show’s debut on March 26, 1973 until March 22, 1974.
Pierre Roulland was the owner of Pierre's, an upscale dining spot and social hub in Genoa City, where he entertained his customers with his singing. He had one sister, Marianna Roulland.
A kind and cultured man, Pierre employed Sally McGuire as a waitress and grew deeply fond of her. When Sally became pregnant with Snapper Foster’s child, Pierre—hoping to protect her reputation—offered to marry Sally and give the baby his name. The two wed shortly before Snapper’s marriage to Chris Brooks.
Pierre planned to sell his restaurant and move to France with Sally, but tragedy struck when Pierre and Sally were robbed at the restaurant. When the robber tried to take Sally hostage, Pierre struggled with him and was left critically injured. At the hospital, Pierre did not respond to any of the tests being performed on him and died shortly after.
Pierre's death devastated Sally and drew his sister, Marianne Roulland, to Genoa City, where she blamed Sally for the loss. Marianne tried to force Sally out of the restaurant but her efforts failed when Pierre’s will confirmed Sally as the legal owner. Grief-stricken, Marianne took her brother’s body back to France.
Shortly after, Sally had her child, a baby boy, which she named Pierre Charles “Chuckie” Roulland, after the man who had been willing to raise another man’s child.
Before leaving Sally sold the restaurant to Leslie Brooks who turned the restaurant into the Allegro.
Sam Powers[]
Sam Powers was a fictional character on The Young and the Restless, portrayed by Barry Cahill and formerly William Mims. Mims originated the role on March 29, 1973 before being replaced by Cahill who portrayed the character until October 15, 1975. Cahill later returned briefly from May 7, 1976 to May 17, 1976.
In 1974, when his mother, Liz Foster, fell in love with Sam, Snapper Foster finally convinced her to have his father, Bill Foster, declared legally dead. Unbeknownst to Liz and her family, Bill was alive and living in a town nearby. Penniless and diagnosed with emphysema, Bill sent a letter to the family. Liz invited Bill to move back into the house, and, with the exception of Snapper, the entire Foster family embraced Bill's return. Although Bill realized that he still had feelings for Liz, he put her needs above his own and encouraged Liz to continue with her plans to marry Sam. But Liz broke off her engagement to Sam, because as far as she was concerned, she was still a married woman.
In 1995, Sam left town after this for a better job in Kansas.

Susan Martin was the daughter of Frank Martin and Sally McGuire. Susan died.

Ernesto Fautsch (also called Maestro) was a fictional character on The Young and the Restless, portrayed by Karl Bruck.
In 1974, long-time Brooks Family friend, Ernesto Fautsch, visited Genoa City. Seeing Leslie Brooks's promise as a concert pianist, he agreed to mentor her and began booking performances across the country.
Later that year, after Leslie's public breakdown, Leslie's husband, Brad Eliot, arranged a meeting with Maestro Fautsch in the hopes that the Maestro could convince Leslie to return to her concert career.
In 1982, Ernesto left town.
In 1984, Ernesto returned to town and gave piano lessons to Nikki Newman before leaving Genoa City once again in 1985.
Gwen Sherman[]
Gwen Sherman was a fictional character on The Young and the Restless, portrayed by Jennifer Leak.
In 1974, Gwen Sherman was a prostitute working in Genoa City. Jill Foster meets Gwen while working as a manicurist at Hazel's Beauty Salon. Gwen invited Jill to visit the escort service where she worked, and Jill agreed; unfortunately, Jill learned Gwen actually worked at a brothel. As soon as Jill realized where she was, Jill turned to go, but bumped right into her brother, Snapper Foster!
Greg Foster overcame his feelings for Chris Brooks when he met and and became entranced by Gwen. Greg quickly fell in love but was often left confused when Gwen canceled their dates for last minute modeling jobs. Despite her mysteries, Greg quickly proposed marriage.
When Greg's sister Jill found out who he intended to marry, she revealed the truth of Gwen's occupation—Gwen was not a model but a successful sex worker controlled by an abusive pimp. When Greg learned Gwen's true occupation, he lost his resolve and ended their engagement.
In 1974, after she was rejected by Greg, Gwen turned to pills and alcohol. She tried to leave her work behind, but Gwen's pimp used physical force to make her continue seeing clients. Greg finally persuaded Gwen to press charges against her pimp and she was finally free. With prostitution behind her, Gwen, with Greg's support, got clean from drugs and rediscovered her will to live. Gwen experienced a spiritual awakening and decided to donate all her past earnings from prostitution to a local convent.
In 1975, Greg and Gwen's relationship ended when she devoted her life to God as a nun, leaving Greg once again a loser at love.
Jed Andrews[]
Jed Andrews was a fictional character on The Young and the Restless, portrayed by Tom Selleck from January 16, 1974 to October 3, 1975.
In 1974, Jed Andrews was a publicist in Genoa City who had an affair with Lorie Brooks while married to Betty Andrews. Jed truly loved Lorie but, as she only had eyes for Brad Eliot at the time, Lorie encouraged Jed to repair his relationship with his wife. Later in 1975, Jed and his wife reconciled and left town.
Mark Henderson[]
Dr. Mark Henderson was a fictional character on The Young and the Restless, portrayed by Steve Carlson.
Mark Henderson was the son of Bruce Henderson and Regina Henderson. He had one half-sister Lorie Brooks.
In 1975, Mark was engaged to Lorie Brooks before canceling the wedding upon learning they were half-siblings. In 1976, Mark died.

Chuckie Roulland[]
Chuckie Roulland (born Pierre Charles Roulland) was a fictional character on The Young and the Restless, portrayed by Marc Bently.
Chuckie Roulland was the product of an affair between Snapper Foster and Sally McGuire in 1973. When Sally found out she was pregnant with Snapper's child, she attempted suicide by overdosing on pills. Her friend Brad Eliot found Sally and rushed her to the hospital in time to save Sally and unborn Chuckie's life.
When Snapper's mother, Liz Foster, found out that Sally was pregnant with Liz's very first grandchild, she was delighted. Despite her glee, Liz begged Sally not to reveal the news to Snapper, concerned that it would negatively affect his future and his marriage to Chris.
Pierre Roulland, after learning that Sally was pregnant and unwed, offered to marry Sally and give unborn Chuckie his name. But before Chuckie arrived, Pierre was brutally killed in a robbery of his restaurant.
Shortly after, Sally gave birth to Pierre "Chuckie" Rolland, whom she named after Pierre, the man willing to be Chuckie's father.
After his birth, Chuckie grew sickly, and Snapper spent every spare moment with Sally and Chuckie, while hiding the Chuckie's paternity from his wife, Chris Brooks. Once Chuckie regained his health, Sally decided to move them to Chicago to start a new life.
Sally came back to Genoa City to get treatment for Chuckie, who was seriously ill. While Chuckie was hospitalized with a kidney problem, Sally realized that she was still attracted to Snapper, but Snapper was adamant that she move on with her life. When Chuckie was cured, Snapper shared an emotional good-bye with both Sally and Chuckie as they returned home with Sally's fiancee, Stan Harris. Snapper regretted keeping Chuckie's paternity a secret.

Fran Whittaker[]
Fran Whittaker was a fictional character on The Young and the Restless, portrayed by Susan Brown.
Fran was an old Brooks Family acquaintance that reconnected with the family when Jennifer Brooks had her mastectomy. Fran worked as a volunteer for a breast cancer survival support group called Reach for Recovery. Fran counseled Jennifer Brooks after her mastectomy on how to return to a normal life after the surgery. Fran had a brief flirtation with Stuart Brooks while he and Jennifer were separated, but it never culminated into anything.
Jack Curtis[]
Jack Curtis (born John Curtznski) was a fictional character on The Young and the Restless, portrayed by Anthony Herrera.
Jack Curtis was a college professor and the ex-husband of Joann Curtis. In 1975, Jack began teaching at Genoa City University.
In 1977, Peggy Brooks fell for her college professor, Jack, who was a married man. Jack pursued Peggy. He had a wandering eye because his wife, Joann Curtis, suffered from an eating disorder and was overweight. Peggy was stunned to discover Jack was married. Furthermore, he refused to divorce Joann because she was emotionally dependent on him and he feared how she might react if he suddenly dumped her for a younger, more attractive woman.
Nevertheless, Peggy held out hope that Jack would eventually divorce Joann. Peggy even tried to help the disturbed woman gain self-confidence. Later Jack divorced Joann and he and Peggy were briefly engaged.
One evening, Peggy, who was still a virgin, was raped. Her sister, Chris Brooks Foster, who had also been raped several years earlier, believed that Peggy's attacker was Ron Becker, a married man who had previously been charged with rape. Chris knew about Ron because she had lent assistance to his family through her work at Legal Aid.
Chris was right. Peggy, who was suffering from the aftermath of her rape, found it difficult to have sex with Jack. Eventually, she ended their relationship and moved back in with her parents.
Joann Curtis[]
Joann Curtis was a fictional character on The Young and the Restless, portrayed by Kay Heberle.
In 1975, Joann was married to Jack Curtis. He had a wandering eye because Joann suffered from an eating disorder and was overweight. Regina Henderson was a fictional character on The Young and the Restless, portrayed by Jodean Russo from May 29, 1975 to June 25, 1975.
Regina Henderson was the ex-wife of Bruce Henderson. She had one son, Mark Henderson.
Regina and Bruce had a tumultuous and complex relationship. When Stuart Brooks was recovering in the hospital from a heart attack, he was surprised to learn from Regina, that her and his good friend Bruce were getting a divorce. Regina later came to Genoa City from Chicago to ask her son, Mark, why he didn't tell her that Bruce was going to ask for a divorce. When she didn't get any answers from Mark, Regina went to visit Stuart where she first met his wife, Jennifer Brooks. Regina told them both that Bruce was likely leaving her for another woman, maybe a woman at Bruce's hospital back home in Chicago. After this, Regina began to search for the woman that Bruce was leaving her for, and ultimately suspected it was Jennifer. Being convinced it was Jennifer, Regina went to Stuart with her suspicions. Stuart was very adamant to Regina that it could not be Jennifer who Bruce was having an affair with, however, when she asked him if Jennifer had changed lately, Stuart fell silent. His silence was enough proof, so Regina left and returned to Chicago.

Karen Becker was the daughter of Nancy Becker and Ron Becker. In 1976, Ron was sent to prison for rape. As a result, Nancy was institutionalized and Karen was in the foster care of Chris Brooks and Snapper Foster. Good natured Chris, who was experiencing difficulty having children, decided to seek custody of young Karen, even though Snapper feared that it would eventually lead to heartache for Chris. Ron agreed to give Chris and Snapper custody of Karen, believing that his wife would never recover from her mental illness. In 1978, Karen left town.

Cynthia Harris was a registered nurse who worked at Genoa City Memorial Hospital. In 1977, Cynthia developed a romantic interest in Snapper Foster. Later, she had a crush on Brad Eliot. In 1978, Cynthia left town.

Although they were not friends at first, Patty soon became a close friend to the troubled Nikki and even acted as her conscience at times.

Suzanne Lynch[]
Suzanne Lynch (formerly Thurston) was a fictional character on The Young and the Restless, portrayed by Ellen Weston from July 19, 1978 to June 5, 1980.
Suzanne Lynch was the mother of Jamie Thurston, with ex-husband Derek Thurston. Suzanne went to high school with Joanna Manning, Neil Fenmore, Katherine Shepherd, Gary Reynolds, Dina Mergeron, John Abbott and Stuart Brooks.
In 1978, Derek Thurston's ex-wife Suzanne arrived in town, bent on getting Derek back. She befriended Kay and gave her candy laced with drugs which drove Kay into a sanitarium. Kay's roommate went berserk and set fire to the room. Kay escaped, but the roommate's body was identified as Kay because she was wearing Kay's ring. The hospital burned down and Katherine was presumed dead. Derek found himself free of both wives, inheriting the Chancellor wealth and able to marry Jill Foster.
Suzanne is stabbed by Kay.
Kay was pretending to be paralyzed in a wheelchair. When Suzanne didn't believe it, she stood in the entryway of the Chancellor Estate and screamed "MY, MY, THERE'S A FIRE! WE'LL ALL BE KILLED!" Kay jumped out of the wheelchair and came running out of the living room to the front door only to have Suzanne standing there with a sly smile on her face.

In 1979, Joseph Thomas was a drifter who was used by Jill Foster to torment Nikki Newman and her sister, Casey Reed, as he resembled their dead father, Nick Reed. Nicholas "Nick" Reed was a fictional character on The Young and the Restless, portrayed by Quinn Redeker from February 2, 1979 to June 4, 1979. Scott Anthony Leet portrayed the character in newly created flashbacks on August 25 and 26, 2004, September 8, 2004, and October 7, 2004.
Nick Reed was the father of Casey Reed and Nikki Reed Newman.
In 1979, after Nikki and Casey's mother was killed in a car crash, Nick returned to Genoa City. Seeing her father again, Casey remembered a traumatic incident that had been buried deep in her subconscious. When she was a child, Nick raped her. Casey was promiscuous and infamously distrustful of men as a result. When Casey, accompanied by her friend, Brock Reynolds, went to confront Nick, he was in the process of trying to rape Nikki. During Nikki's struggle to defend herself, she killed their father by hitting him over the head with a lamp. She was acquitted.
Nick Reed is found dead.
In 2004, Nikki began having strange flashes of childhood memories upon visiting the Rec Center where her abusive father used to work when it was a paint factory. The flashes escalated after the skeleton of a child was found when the Rec Center broke ground for a pool. With Paul Williams' investigative help, Nikki recalled herself at five years old and her best friend, Joshua Cassen, fighting over her father's gun, the gun going off, and Joshua being shot. Apparently Nick had buried the body behind the paint factory, and Nikki had blocked out the memory all those years until the skeleton was found.

Tony was a street kid. He stumbled upon the body of Walter Addison and went through the corpse's pockets in search of a wallet. The Genoa City Police spotted Tony and booked him for murder. Greg Foster was appointed Tony's public defender.

In 1979, Vince Holiday served as Rose DeVille's sidekick in all of her illegal activities of undercover prostitution and selling babies on the black market. Vince attempted to rape a young girl name Stephanie. In 1980, Vince left town. In 1986, Vince returned to town. In 1987, Vince died.

Gary Reynolds was a fictional character on The Young and the Restless. He never appeared onscreen.
Gary Reynolds was the father of Brock Reynolds and the grandfather of Mackenzie Browning. Gary, Suzanne Lynch, Joanna Manning, Neil Fenmore, Stuart Brooks, Katherine Chancellor, John Abbott and Dina Mergeron were quite close friends who went to the same high school whose friendships that lasted beyond those early years.
Gary was Katherine's first husband. They had one son, Brock. While Gary and Brock were spending time overseas for Gary's work, Katherine had an affair with Gary's best friend, a local judge named Arthur Hendricks. Shortly before Gary returned, Katherine gave birth to a baby and handed it over to Charlotte Ramsey with instructions to give the baby up for adoption.
Katherine does not speak of Gary very often and, other than the fact that he was Brock's father and that he and Kay spent a year apart near the end of their rocky marriage, little is known about him.
Gary was mentioned by Jack Abbott in 2018 when he alleged that Phillip Chancellor II could be his biological father through an affair he had with Dina while Katherine was still married to Gary.

In the '70s, Violet was a flight attendant. She was the widow of Kenneth Montgomery. Katherine Chancellor was insanely jealous that Jill Foster had her husband's baby. Katherine met Violet in a bar while Kay had been drinking and began plotting to steal Jill's baby. Violet helped Kay with the caper. Violet brought Katherine a child and they were switched. Violet adopted the baby and named him Cane. She took Cane home to Arizona. Violet died shortly after that. She was survived by an elder "brother" (not legally related), Langley Ashby. Langley took Cane to Canberra, Australia to raise him. His Uncle Langley adopted him and named him "Ethan Ashby".
Years later, Nina Webster asks about Violet - Cane said she died when he was a baby. Nina said that was what was so strange - there were too many dead ends - she couldn't even find a record of Violet, living or dead! Later, Nina asked if Paul Williams knew any details about Violet and Cane. The next day, Paul told Nina that he did some more digging into Violet. Paul found out that Violet wasn't even in town when the switch was supposed to have happened. Katherine was supposed to have given Violet a very valuable ring for the switch. Katherine also remembered running across a field carrying a baby. After learning that Violet wasn't even in town when Cane was born, Nina was certain that Cane was not who he claimed to be.
